Birthing with Bliss-what it might look like

Every birth is unique, and my role is to meet you where you are — During your birthing journey some of the ways I might support you are:

Comfort and Calm—I will help you through

  • Pressure / Massage

  • Gentle Touch

  • Hold your Hand, Hold your Head, Hold your Foot

  • Fan you / Press Ice Packs

  • Press a Warm Cloths on your head or back.

  • Create a Soothing Rhythm

    • Through Breath, Movement, Eye Contact

  • Keep track of Contractions & Labor Rhythms

  • Extra Set of Hands

  • Adjust the Pillows

  • Hold Your Legs

  • Grab your phone

  • Take Photos

  • Call the nurse

  • Helping you relax into each moment as it unfolds

Encourage Movement and Positioning

  • Give you suggestions for labor positions

  • Encourage movement

    • Walk

    • Stretch

    • Climb Stairs

    • Sway / Rock / Bounce on a birthing ball

    • Even Dance!

Emotional Support

  • I’ll be a calm, comforting, steady presence

  • Be the one who truly listens you

  • Tune in to what you need

  • Reassure during intense or uncertain moments

  • Loving support and encouragement

  • Notice when rest, quiet, clarity, or extra support may be helpful

  • I will believe in you and your ability to have your baby

  • My faith in you will radiate to everyone in the room
