I encourage families to attend childbirth education through their chosen birth center or hospital whenever possible.
I also strongly recommend supplementing with an additional class of your choosing.
One I especially recommend is Birth Matters. I was trained by this birth educator, Chris Cleary, who offers virtual, self-paced childbirth education. Her humor, warmth, and evidence-based approach help families feel informed, confident, and prepared.

Decades of research show that continuous labor support — including support from trained doulas — is associated with meaningful improvements in birth outcomes and family experiences.
Research has found that doula-supported births are associated with:
Lower rates of cesarean and assisted delivery
Shorter labors and reduced use of pain medication
Higher likelihood of vaginal birth, including VBAC
Improved breastfeeding outcomes
Greater satisfaction and emotional well-being

Absolutely not. I will work with both you and your birth partner. We will be supporting you as a team. Many times birth partners want to help comfort you—but they just aren’t sure what you need. I can help give them the reassurance, instructions, and support they need so they can confidently support you.
